A great performance in the men’s skateboarding competition on Monday afternoon helped Team USA increase the number of medals it has won.
Monday’s skateboarding street event saw Jagger Eaton and Nyjah Huston add two more medals to the Team USA total.
Eaton, the bronze medallist from the Olympics in Tokyo, advanced to silver in Paris. He trailed Japan’s Yuto Horigome, who successfully defended his gold medal, by barely a tenth of a point after finishing with a total score of 281.04 in the final.
Huston, who had finished eighth in Tokyo, took home bronze with a final score of 279.38.
Horigome proved his mettle at the crucial moment, landing a jaw-dropping 97.08 on his last trick to finish with a total score of 281.14, making him the sole skateboarder to earn gold in the competition.
